The German PIPAC Center at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus (EvK) Herne specialises in treating peritoneal cancer (peritoneal carcinomatosis) with PIPAC therapy. We treat according to current medical knowledge and look after every patient personally.
Since the centre was founded in August 2025, we have treated many patients from Germany and abroad. We involve your relatives and base the treatment on current scientific standards.

Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Zieren specialised in PIPAC therapy early on. As holder of a chair at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, he played a key role in developing the PIPAC procedure more than 13 years ago.
He has personally performed more than 2,500 PIPAC procedures. Under his leadership, the procedure was developed further into PIPAC 2.0, with adjusted dosing and new nozzle technology.

Prof. Dr. med. Urs Pabst-Giger is an internationally recognised pioneer of PIPAC therapy. Together with Prof. Dr. Zieren, he played a key role in developing the procedure and establishing it in clinical practice.
He has many years of experience in visceral surgery and oncology and speaks regularly at international medical congresses. At the German PIPAC Center, he leads scientific research and the further development of the therapy.
In international workshops, he trains surgeons from all over the world in the PIPAC method.
